We're vinyl flooring specialists

Vinyl is an easy-to-clean, easy-to-maintain flooring material that provides years of durable, waterproof use for any room in the home.

Soft and warm underfoot, yet resistant to splashes and stains, it is ideal for bathrooms and kitchens.

  • The durability of vinyl is determined by the wear layer (the protective coating on top of the decorative layer).

  • Don't assume thicker vinyl is more durable.

  • Most vinyls have R10 slip resistance.

  • Can be fitted on most surfaces as long as it is smooth and flat.  It may be necessary to have your existing floor levelled either with ply or a screed.

Other flooring types

Luxury vinyl tile:

Comes in a variety of contemporary colours to seamlessly mimic the appearance of a real wood floor. Available in plank and tile formats.

Laminate:

Our laminate floors courtesy of Balterio are wear resistant, stain resistant, moisture resistant, impact resistant, slip resistant, stable and strong, cigarette proof, 100% healthy and compatible with underfloor heating.

Underlay:

Adds cushioning and comfort, absorbs shock and provides additional insulation. We use spring-bond underlay which helps to extend the life of your carpet.

Taking a closer look at the types of carpet available

Carpets provide a warm, comfortable and inviting surface for almost any indoor environment. Choose something with a dense, tight, short pile tuft for heavy-footfall areas, whilst opting for a softer, more luxury feel when it comes to the bedroom. Your options include twist, Berber/loop pile and Saxony.

Twist

A hardwearing carpet with yarn which has been twisted tightly together, creating a one-way pile direction. Twist carpets are the most popular type of carpet because they're a good choice for places where tread can wear such as stairs and hallways.

Berber/Loop Pile

This is made from uncut continuous loops with a distinctive knot appearance, or has loops of different heights to form a textured pile.

For a high traffic area, choose one with smaller or tighter loops which will bounce back and decrease the chance of loops crushing and matting with wear and tear. However, this is not recommended if you have pets as they may pull up the loops with their claws.

Saxony carpet 1.png

Saxony

A deep pile carpet, popular for bedrooms because of its soft, luxurious feeling underfoot.  However, its long pile may not spring as you wish.

Wool mix

80% wool, 20% manmade fibres. A very good combination for an all-purpose carpet.

Polypropylene

A manmade fibre which is hard wearing and resistant to stains. It can be cleaned with a part bleach solution.  Always check with the retailer first.

Wool

Good for insulation, reducing heat loss, and noise. It also retains its appearance really well.
